Some Things Just Don't Work Out

Some things just don't work out. It may be a job opportunity, a relationship, a marriage, really anything. You hope for the best, dreaming of the unimaginable but then BAM, you lose the job you've been praying for, get the divorce you've been dreading, or you go through the breakup you never thought you'd go through, and it's all finished, just like that. I've always asked myself why the decision I chose to believe was correct was the final factor in something not working out. Why is that whenever we think we are doing the right thing, we really aren't? When are we able to feel that sense of peace? Or are we ever able to?

My mom and dad have always told me that everything happens for a reason. It's cliche, I know, and I'm pretty sure someone in your life has told you that same phrase more than once, but it really is true. There are many times I find myself not believing it just because of the certain situation I am in, but really, it is such an important truth to believe. The Lord will always have bigger and better things in store, and it's so important to remember that if one door gets closed, He will open the next one when it is the right time. It's hard to have faith when things aren't working out because you never know where The Lord is going to take you next or what other storm is going to rock your boat. It's also very scary to think that your life isn't in your own hands, but in someone else's, but remember that the person whose hands your life is in knows what they're doing. The Lords got you and me covered. He is never going to let us down, even when it feels like the whole world is falling on our shoulders. He's right there behind us, every step of the way.

Things don't work out, and it sucks. It really does. But remember that a few weeks, months, or years from now, you could be offered a job with better benefits, meet a new spouse who was way better than your divorced spouse, or find a boyfriend who will forever be cherished as your husband. Eventually, things will work out, and Jesus will restore the hole that you felt was empty. He will provide for you and/or your family, He aways does. It may or may not happen instantly, but it will happen through His perfect timing.

When something doesn't work out, it's okay. Don't stress or panic or freak out over how to handle the situation. Just take a deep breath, say a few prayers, pick yourself back up, and remember that it's all in The Lord's hands. He's got you covered. He always will, He always has, and He always does. I promise.
