the dreaded day

It's the day we all dread...

Going back to school, going back to work, going back to the normal daily activities in life that don't consist of being a couch potato and drinking 7 cups of hot cocoa while watching Netflix all day (although we all wish that was actually a real life job like come on who doesn't think so). But sadly, life isn't that easy and our normal lives are not nearly as relaxing nor as fun as that.

Thankfully, there is a way we can get past the dreaded idea of school and work, and this way can make all the difference as long as you stick to it and live it out EVERYday and not just for one day. There's a verse in the Bible that says this, "Great is thy faithfulness" and there is a verse in the Bible that says, "His mercies are new every morning", and there is also a verse that says, "This is the day The Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Are you catching on? There is hope in a new day. There is learning in a new day. There is peace in a new day. There is pain in a new day. There is love in a new day. Ladies and Gents, we have new days because of the One who created them. We have sunsets and sunrises because our Jesus, the creator of the Heaven and the Earth, creates them! HE is the one who wakes us up every morning. HE is the one who is the sustainer and the protector of our lives.

Without Jesus, we wouldn't even have new days nevertheless get to experience them! Your job may be the worst job ever and you are making yourself depressed because of it or going to school may be the scariest thing for you because all you ever feel is defeated because someone else bullies you for who you choose to be, but my friends, no matter what you may not like about where you go when you wake up each morning, you have the ability to go there and you have the ability to live another day, and isn't that all we ever ask for?

Isn't it that all we ever ask for is to be able to wake up to the ones we love again, to be able to kiss our spouse or our fiance or our boyfriend or girlfriend again? Isn't it that all we ever ask for is to be able to eat and provide food on the table without counting pennies? Isn't it that all we ever ask for is a fresh day, a fresh start? If so, why are we complaining?

Why are we grumbling about another day at work, another day at school, a fresh start to impact the ones who need our love?

We all have those days. We all have those days where we want nothing more than to stay in bed, wrapped up that cozy heated blanket and stay in it - all. day. long. We all have those days and that's okay. It's totally okay to want a break from something you work hard at and it's totally okay to not want to go back to normal work and school hours cause goodness if it wasn't okay, I would be in big trouble because all I have said today is "do I HAVE to wake up at 7:00 am to go to school tomorrow?"

It's not about not wanting to, it's about making the "I don't want to" the center of our attitudes. It's making that our mindset when we put our feet on the floor everyday that's the issue. It's realizing that every time you step out of bed, it's Jesus breathing life into you and allowing you to live another day, that's what we should be striving for.

We should be striving to push back those "I don't want to" thoughts and making the "I can do this.", "How can I impact others today?", "How can I spread the Gospel to someone else today?", "How can I be kind today?" thoughts the center of our attention.

So stop dreading everyday of life you are given. Stop dreading your days at work and school and start believing in how The Lord can use you. Start praying for those who you talk to, interact with, share coffee with, start praying for the people you'll see throughout the day.

When you take the mindset off of you and place it on them, you'll begin to realize how many people you can touch and why The Lord chooses to give us new mercies and new life every single morning.
